Description
Catcoin (CAT) is the first cat-themed meme coin, launched in December 2013, shortly after Dogecoin. It was designed as a "Bitcoin on Scrypt" coin, inheriting Bitcoin's characteristics such as a 10-minute target block time and block reward halving every 210,000 blocks, but utilizing the Scrypt hashing algorithm. Catcoin is notable as the first Proof-of-Work (PoW) coin to implement a PID Controller for on-the-fly difficulty adjustment, addressing issues with intermittent miners.
